Latest brief01SABA Keynote
Media must remain rooted in “the ubuntu algorithm”: a shared context, conversation and choreography, in community. Anice Hassim’s keynote asks what media does with AI — and with the trust its audiences place in it.

Leadership brief02Magnificent Humanity
Pope Leo XIV’s Magnifica Humanitas names the test every ministry now faces: use technology without surrendering people to systems built for power, extraction, or replacement.

immedia's vision is that trust is inverting. Institutions no longer command legitimacy by default; legitimacy is increasingly earned within communities that can recognise one another, govern themselves, and organise around shared purpose.
That changes the shape of digital infrastructure. Instead of platforms extracting attention from loosely connected crowds, the next internet needs sovereign digital environments where identity, participation, memory, and exchange stay close to the community that creates them.
Fabrik gives media brands, member organisations, neighbourhoods, estates, faith communities, and partner networks a digital environment of their own, designed for participation, communication, and service.
Instead of forcing communities into generic social tools, Fabrik gives them a platform that supports daily operations, stronger relationships, clearer identity, and data that stays useful because it is rooted in a real community context.
What Fabrik enables
Branded community environments: each deployment is tailored to the identity and needs of the organisation behind it.
Operational readiness: communities can communicate, coordinate, and deliver services in one place.
Smarter growth: every deployment builds useful signal, insight, and patterns that make the next launch stronger.
Media communities use Fabrik to move beyond one-way audience reach and build stronger membership, participation, and recurring value around trusted channels.

Ambient helps organisations test whether a digital proposition can become a trusted digital home for the people it is meant to serve.
Built on Fabrik, the programme moves from concept to pilot in a disciplined 90-day cycle. Partners learn where trust forms, what participation looks like, and which services are strong enough to carry forward into a wider rollout.
Current project field
Ambient already spans civic, neighbourhood, destination, cultural, and mission-led communities, giving partners a live field of working examples.

Awards and recognition earned over three decades of work in media, apps, broadcast technology, and trusted digital platforms.
immedia's founding vision was set down on 1 April 1995: digital would transform humanity. Since then, the company has kept moving with that shift, anticipating each new turn early and building the infrastructure required to make it real.
From Durban into wider markets, that work has evolved from online media and ecosystem services into apps, cloud, streaming, sovereign social platforms, and Community Digital Infrastructure. By June 2025, Fabrik-powered environments had reached 2 million app downloads, more than 500,000 registered users, and 29 communities.
Across each phase, the work has continued to move with the changing shape of digital life: from analogue to digital to hybrid, from broadcast to platform to social, and now toward ambient trust and community digital infrastructure.
